Introducing our new 3 day intermediate hoof trimming course. This course aims to build upon the basic competencies covered in First Aid for Feet but covers a broader and deeper range of skills and knowledge.
🐄Identify important functional attributes of foot anatomy
🐄Safely handle and maintain a range of foot trimming equipment
🐄Carry out all stages of the Five Step Method
🐄Appropriately identify lame animals
🐄Appropriately treat lame animals, using a treatment appropriate to the lesion causing lameness
🐄Describe a basic lameness control programme based on the important success factors
Day 1 is at the practice using cadaver feet, days 2 & 3 are with live cows on farm.
There will be a competency assessment at the end of the course to obtain a Lantra Accredited Certificate of Competency.
